Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party results provider. Our servers do not retain a copy of that search. When you contact us, we receive the content you choose to send and use it to answer.
Information Collected Automatically
Standard hosting logs may record an IP address, browser type, visited pages, and timestamps. Aggregated log data helps maintain the service and measure page use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where applicable.
How Information Is Used
We use limited data to operate the service, diagnose errors, measure traffic, and improve content. We neither sell visitor lists nor create individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Privacy Choices
Applicable law may give you rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data held by a website. Illinois does not have a broad consumer privacy statute identified in the project research that applies here. Because we retain little information, a request normally means checking the contact mailbox and server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Records held by Illinois, DuPage County, or the Village of Westmont are outside our control, and a correction or removal request must go to that custodian. Public access to government records is governed in part by the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140, including its privacy exemptions.
Updates to This Policy
Any change to this policy will be posted on this page. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
